St. Gallen University of Applied Sciences

St. Gallen University of Applied Sciences is a regionally anchored higher education institution with a national and international appeal. Over 1,700 students currently study at one of the four departments: health care, social work, building as well as technology and economics. Each year the institution records over 1,600 participants in its courses, professional training and seminars each year. Seven higher education departments are researching future-oriented topics and offer practically oriented services.

Flexibility, high levels of permutation and a good feel were the central factors as part of the locking system tender. The decision was made in favour of ICS (Inner Code System) made by EVVA. In addition to the high number of user groups, ICS offers different locking technologies for high levels of protection: the time-tested curve system, the durable length profile and distinctive track system with internal recesses. Thanks to the finish, ICS locking elements guarantee the highest wear resistance in daily use. ICS cylinders are produced in modular design (SYMO) to provide more than just flexibility. They can consequently be adapted to the relevant door requirements directly on site. ICS cylinders can also be customized with specific functions on-site (e.g. external key override). Corda Campus

Corda Campus in Hasselt, in the Belgian province of Limburg, is an office facility with a number of rented spaces and central communication as well as community areas.

On an overall area of around 70,000 m² the facility provides offices, laboratories and studios. Royal Library

The Royal Library in Copenhagen is the largest library in Scandinavia and it operates as Denmark's national library as well as the library of Copenhagen University.

The Royal Library was extended towards an island in the harbour in 1999 with a building featuring a black marble and glass facade, known to locals as the "black diamond". The entire institution is home to countless, valuable books, magazines and archives and for this reason, security systems must comply with the strictest requirements. The locking system in the Royal Library is an EVVA 3KS system. EVVA's tried and tested mechanical 3KS locking system is based on a patented, springless principle featuring unique curve key cuts to reliably prevent unauthorised access thanks to the system's high degrees of key copying protection. The system was installed to the full satisfaction of the client as part of a successful collaboration between EVVA and its Danish distributor Sanistaal and it is now contributing to protecting the valuable, royal book archives.

ZUŠ arts school

Around 750 students study subjects including music, visual arts, dance and acting at ZUŠ arts school in Náchod (Czech Republic).

A new locking system was installed as part of a complete refurbishment of the school building. The local EVVA partner convinced with an appealing price/performance ratio and the development of a handy locking chart that meets all demands for different access authorisations. Today, 150 EPS system cylinders featuring patented length profiles and integrated tampering control guarantee the security of teaching staff and students alike.

 Curtin University

A total of 7,000 lock cylinders and 300 3KSplus locking system padlocks, made by Austrian manufacturer EVVA, are in use at Curtin University in Western Australia. The experienced, Australian EVVA distributor Lock & Key installed the EVVA locking system.

Until 2011, the facilities at Curtin University had been operating eight different security systems. Security Supervisor Sean Daly reports: "we were faced with a security risk when patents for various systems were due to expire. Additionally, the use of many different locking systems made handling very difficult." For this reason, the management of Curtin University — more precisely a controlling committee — was seeking an alternative security solution. The requirements are very diverse: one single system must secure all six Curtin University campuses. The system had to be reliable and provide long-term patent protection. 3KSplus is a system that meets all the requirements in the eyes of the committee and an independent security consultant. The system is ideal for locking systems with a complex structure and a vast number of different user groups. This applies most of all to systems with a changing structure and hence particularly to universities. Thanks to the patented, springless curve technology, this robust system is suitable for the toughest conditions. The overlapping curve key cuts guarantee optimum security. Additionally, patent protection for 3KSplus does not expire until 2025 and this consequently provides protection against copied keys, illegal key copies and key manipulations. Security Supervisor Sean Daly and his team identified the circumstances at each door of the six campuses and compiled a system matrix. In future, the matrix is intended to manage all 14,000 keys that were handed out to employees and suppliers. The campuses were divided into five zones. In Daly's opinion, this increases the security. "It also increases the system's options for extensions", Daly continues. There is one master key for each zone. Additionally, there is a "master key" for each building and institute as well as individual keys for each room. Furthermore, various service keys will be handed over to service providers. System installation was launched in December 2011 and was completed June 2014. Sean Daly is delighted about the professional level of collaboration with Lock & Key. We were able to implement a difficult project in simple terms thanks to an excellent collaboration. For Daly, 3KSplus complies with all the requirements: "The system is robust and reliable."

Kapfenburg castle boarding school
