Mechatronic access solution for the Küstenkiste Usedom

Tobias Weiss, owner of a traditional optics and jewellery shop in Vechta, runs the exclusive holiday and seminar house “Küstenkiste Usedom” together with his family. The property is rented through the agency Usedom Travel and can accommodate up to 16 people.

Remote access control - a special challenge
The Usedom coastal box was designed as a high-quality holiday and seminar house that is rented exclusively as a whole. The challenge: A secure, flexible access system for guests, service providers and owners - despite the spatial distance of 500 km to the operator.

Smart access solution with system
The mechatronic access solution with the AirKey electronic access system was used in combination with mechanical EPS cylinders. The eight electronic components enable central management of access rights via smartphone - ideal for owners who are not on site. Mechanical cylinders were used where digital control is not required, for example on guest room doors or garden gates.

Efficiency and safety in daily operations
The system proves itself in everyday use: guests receive access media or tradespeople access via the AirKey app, sensitive zones remain protected. If a key fob is lost, it is sufficient to block it - there is no need to replace the locking cylinder. The remote assignment of access rights was also a major advantage during the construction phase.
