Before EVVA purchased the western section of the Vienna headquarters, the building had been a furniture shop spread over several floors. I had been to the shop many times before I worked for EVVA. I can remember how you had to walk up and down the old wooden stairs. And next door, where EVVA's car park is today, was the Kaindl department store. Both companies went bankrupt. In the 1980s and 90s EVVA purchased these properties and consequently almost doubled its production and office space. Today almost the entire building complex in Wienerbergstrasse belongs to the company. And even further back, in the 1950s/60s, this part of the building was used to produce the large sets for Vienna's theatre productions. As part of the refurbishment, EVVA's management even considered gutting the building and installing glass panes on the outside. Back then that would have been permitted and feasible. However, those plans were then scrapped.

The history of our headquarters, which has been EVVA’s home since 1955, is hence very interesting, particularly if you were lucky enough to witness the constant construction and financial growth in the company. EVVA started as a proper workshop, then at the beginning of the 1980s it was already using the first computer-aided assembly machines; it became a highly professional mechanical engineering company over the following decades and today it is a real pioneer at the forefront of Industry 4.0. Looking back or even into the future, it's clear that the management has always been ahead of its time. In the process, EVVA has remained a reliable, family-owned company for employees and partners alike. Our company has always maintained this innovative and at the same time reliable approach.
