Anton Haller Looking for: Good chess player, on offer: A 40-year career

I spent my entire working life at EVVA. That doesn’t happen these days anymore. I started in 1977 – but initially I had to prove myself at chess against the former Head of Finance, Dr Pelwecki. I must have done well, because I got the job. Being good at chess was and is a good prerequisite for being able to develop complex master key systems with their various locking hierarchies. From the 1980s onwards, I then set up order management and electronic corporate planning – from calculating systems, invoicing, scheduling to material management. I only knew EVVA, but when I heard what employees in other companies went through, I knew I had been very lucky. Until the end, I sat in the same place in the same office from my first day. Only the furniture changed (laughs).
